The first on the wireless charging device of vehicle will be the first listed in 2017. American famous electronic supplier Qualcomm has installed "Halo" inductive charging equipment in the BMW I3 and the higher I8, the models in the E F1 service.
E formula organizers plan to adopt the two BMW electric vehicle as a safety car, racing car and Trailer medical. I3 and I8 are equipped with gasoline auxiliary power (I3 optional). Qualcomm think, its wireless charging technology can ensure the safety car in place quickly, reduce the cost of the plug time. Qualcomm said, E formula one project proves that enhancing and commercial feasibility of Halo technology.
Qualcomm Halo business development and marketing, VP Anthony Dr. Thompson to Auto Express said: "our person in charge and several major electric car company talked, some price is not ideal, is out of date."
Thompson estimates, the first wireless charging of electric cars will be on the market within three years. Despite the automaker prediction, ten years, wireless charging technology will become the leading, but time leads to increased cost will be limited to apply this technology better in luxury models.
